Simon Walsh has over ten years experience of dealing with commercial disputes and has practiced with both English and US firms in the City of London. He has acted for a wide range of clients including English and US public and private companies as well as partnerships, directors / entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, IT and retail. Simon also counsels clients on dispute avoidance.

In addition to his contentious practice, Simon advises companies on pre and post dispute contract reviews, dispute resolution clauses and arbitration agreements as well as litigation readiness, electronic disclosure and document management/retention issues and contributes to various publications and seminars on this subject.

Simon is also a Governor for Marlborough School Science College in St Albans.

Key Experience and Clients

  • Acted for a leading compressor manufacturer in the defence of a £9m claim for breach of contract
  • Acting for three African banks claiming $40m in an ICC arbitration arising out of a failed major software project and defending claims for fees and damages
  • Represented the claimant in a £1m breach of warranty claim arising out of an agreement for the acquisition of an airflow measurement device business
  • Represents a sports retail franchisor
