SA Law has raised over £30,000 in charity donations since 2005, targeting funds towards local Hertfordshire-based charities as well as a number of national fundraising initiatives.
Highlights of our fundraising work include:
The Willow Foundation
The Willow Foundation provides special days for seriously ill 16 to 40 year-olds. Founded by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson and his wife in memory of their daughter Anna, who died of cancer aged just 31, the days deliver much needed time out from the stresses of living with a life-threatening condition.
Our fundraising initiatives have included sponsorship for the Lands End to John O'Groats cycle challenge, the sale of exclusive 'Mr Benn' pin badges, our highly popular 'Smart Alecs' quiz night and over £1,000 raised from the annual SA Law Golf Day.
The Peace Hospice
Supporting the terminally ill and those with life-limiting illnesses, The Peace Hospice is a Watford-based charity that provides an exceptional range of hospice, outpatient and bereavement services.
We undertake a broad range of fundraising activities that include co-sponsorship of the annual Peace Hospice Charity Dress-Down Day, toner cartridge recycling and our sponsored client satisfaction survey initiative, for which we donate £1 for every survey received. Other fundraising work includes sponsored team entries into the St Albans Half Marathon and Starlight Walk. We also organised a hugely successful office ‘life laundry’, for which staff donated unwanted items from home for selling in The Peace Hospice’s shops.
Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan help people living with cancer to take the first step towards more good days. It provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care. SA Law is one of the many local organisations and small groups of supporters who assist with vital fundraising to improve the lives of the many people who really need help, support and comfort during a very difficult time in their lives.
We undertake a plethora of activites on Macmillans's behalf, working closely alongside the St Albans, Harpenden, Welwyn Garden & Hatfield Committees we take part in The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning. We are also proud to sponsor the Macmillan Centenary Thanksgiving Celebrations.
Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospices
We continue to operate a successful book collection and donation initiative for Noah’s Ark, a Barnet-based charity that supports around 350 life-limited children and their families within South Hertfordshire and North London. The charity offers an incredible range of flexible, free services from hospice buildings and from within the child’s own home, with a growing community outreach programme.
BBC Children in Need
We undertake a range of fundraising initiatives for the BBC's UK corporate charity “Children in Need”. In support of the annual telethon, we hold charity dress-down days, bake sales and collect and donate old mobile phones – encouraging as much support as possible from clients and suppliers.
Red Nose Day
We also continue to support Red Nose Day, urging hundreds of clients to “Pick their Nose” by having red noses available in the office and sending them to clients through the post. We also hold charity dress-down days (we do wear suits occasionally by the way) and run a fundraising joke competition.
Personal Initiatives
In addition to SA Law’s collective staff fundraising activities, we also support the initiatives of individual staff members. These cover a range of local and national charitable organisations.
