From the launch of SA Law in 2005, community and social responsibility has been an integral part of our new culture. And we’re proud that this isn’t simply a generic corporate message to be seen to be doing the right thing. It has grown to be a proactive commitment from every member of our staff, that has produced an outstanding body of community initiatives. Alongside these, we have forged an exceptional track record of resource efficiency and minimal environmental impact as a result of schemes to proactively encourage beneficial working practices from ourselves, our clients and suppliers.
SA Law’s community initiatives are diverse. For example, we provide our legal advice free of charge to local business start-ups through close associations with local enterprise agencies in St Albans and Watford. We also recently took a lead role in relaunching the Watford and North London Business Awards as the Business Excellence Awards, increasing the role it plays in the local business community of championing the successes of organisations and entrepreneurs.
Our work with charities and non-profit organisations goes much further than simply being the leading regional legal specialist in this sector. We support a number of these clients with fundraising work that has resulted in well over £75,000 in donations since our launch. We also regularly donate the use of meeting rooms and refreshments to local organisations such as the Centre for Voluntary Services. Furthermore, a number of our senior staff members hold key positions as trustees and directors of local institutions, where our legal knowledge and commercial acumen delivered to the heart of these organisations has helped to secure greater risk management and improved operations.
