Keith Docking, Joint Head of SA Law’s Family department, has been awarded Accredited Specialist status, in advanced financial matters by Resolution – the UK’s leading family law group. He is one of a very limited number in the country who has attained accreditation at this level.
Resolution was set up in 1982 to help those facing family breakdown to make an informed choice when it came to appointing a lawyer. Starting life as the Solicitors Family Law Association with just 30 members, the group has swelled to 5,000 members and changed its name to Resolution in 2003. The Specialist Accreditation scheme was introduced in 1999 to set a benchmark for expertise in the field.
Accredited Specialists have to pass a written test that not only demonstrates a broad knowledge and skill in family law, but also specialist expertise in two or more specific subjects – in addition to agreeing to uphold the Resolution code of practice. Keith’s examinations focused on his nationally recognised experience in complex financial matters and Court Advocacy.
“We are delighted for Keith, both for his personal achievement and what it brings to SA Law,” comments Managing Partner Steve Ryan. “Accredited Specialist status is a nationally recognised standard of expertise and commitment to an extremely complex area of law. This puts another stamp of excellence on a team that is already seen to be a clear leader in the region.”
