SA Law Awarded CQS Accreditation and Chambers & Partners Ranking

Local property owners and investors benefit from SA Law double win

The rapidly expanding Real Estate Department at St Albans-based law firm SA Law has achieved two landmarks in the run up to Christmas 2011. The 14-strong team has achieved the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation, in addition to being recognised as a leading regional practice by independent legal research body Chambers and Partners.

Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS)

Residential homeowners benefit from SA Law’s recent achievement of the highly sought after CQS accreditation.
Introduced by the Law Society in January 2009, the scheme has become a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing. Applicant firms are assessed against a set of rigorous benchmarking standards to establish the integrity of their conveyancing staff and the service provided. This includes the team’s adherence to good practice management standards, as well as prudent and efficient conveyancing procedures through the scheme’s protocol. After months of assessment, SA Law’s Real Estate Department achieved CQS accreditation on 9th December 2011.

Chambers and Partners

SA Law’s outstanding work for commercial and residential property clients has been recognised by the Chambers and Partners 2012 Guide to the UK legal profession.
A leading publisher of legal research, Chambers conducts thousands of interviews with lawyers and their clients every year to identify regional leaders around the world. SA Law’s Real Estate Department has been recognised as a regional leader in the Northern Home Counties, with Managing Partner Steve Ryan cited as a top tier lawyer. The department was praised for having strong foundations in property development, finance and asset management, and for having a developing retail specialism. SA Law’s property litigation specialist Lynsey Newman has also been recognised as a notable regional practitioner in this highly specialised field.

“These achievements are extremely important in a sector that suffers from fierce competition in the slow economy,” comments Joint Head of department Terence Ritchie.

“Clients are placing even greater emphasis on achieving value for money with property services. Particularly with legal advice, clients spend longer and use more extensive research methods to find the right firm. Achieving recognised first class credentials in the marketplace has never been more essential.”

“Relatively few national firms have so far qualified for CQS accreditation, which makes us particularly delighted to have achieved this badge of quality,” adds residential conveyancing expert and Joint Head of department Steve Kenneford. “More and more homeowners are becoming familiar with the scheme, and recognising the protection it affords them in terms of service.”
