Date 24 January 2012

Companies across South West Hertfordshire are invited to support the Peace Hospice by taking part in their annual Dress Down Day on Friday 27th January 2012.
Businesses of all sizes are welcome to get involved by ditching the usual dress code and wearing something totally different for the day.

The event, which is sponsored by SA Law and DPD Printing, has been running for ten years and has raised thousands of pounds to help the hospice care for people with a life limiting or terminal illness and support their families.

Hospice Director of Fundraising and Communications, Paul Gauntlett said "January can be rather a dreary month so what better way to banish the blues than dressing down? Here at the Hospice we have chosen to dress in red, white and blue because of the Jubilee and Olympics but I know companies choose all kinds of themes from wearing sporting gear to dressing up or just wearing casual clothing instead of the usual suit. All the donations from the day are very important to us."

This year the Hospice needs to raise over £3 million of charitable income and has recently had to face temporary cuts to its services including the closure of two beds in the inpatient unit. The Peace Hospice, based in Watford provides inpatient care, day care, an outpatient service, a hospice at home service as well as bereavement support for people across South West Hertfordshire. All the care that the Hospice provides to its patients and their families is free.
