Champion British racing driver and SA Law client Dan Wheldon has won at Daytona – the gruelling US 24-hour endurance race that took place in Florida over the weekend. Wheldon and team-mates took the lead with six hours to go – holding onto it to secure victory.

SA Law’s specialist sports lawyer, Peter Goodman, has represented the former Buckinghamshire resident throughout his career. Peter advises on all aspects of Dan’s legal work including sponsorship, merchandising and contract negotiation – most recently with his signing to US team Chip Ganassi. Dan has been enjoying tremendous success in the US, winning both the Indianapolis 500 and Indy Racing League last season.

Allan McNish, another champion British driver and SA Law client, also raced at Daytona over the weekend but unfortunately had to retire because of engine problems. Allan, a winner of the Le Mans 24-hour race and former F1 driver, is due to debut the eagerly awaited Audi R10 at the Sebring 12-hour race in March.
