Hertfordshire-based SA Law offers a glimpse of the future with the appointment of Satinder Gill, who becomes the firm’s first in-house barrister.
Gill specialises in Employment, Commercial litigation and Business Immigration Law and his arrival is a further boost to the firm’s thriving Employment and Commercial Litigation departments.
Steve Ryan, Managing Partner of SA Law, commented:
“Over the last 18 months or so the success of the Employment and Commercial Litigation departments has been such that it makes sense, in terms of cost and efficiency, to have a barrister in-house. We realise this is a bold step; but if regional firms have a genuine ambition to compete with London-based rivals it is essential that you look at ways to improve the service you offer.”
Gill was called to the Bar in 1991 and subsequently spent ten years as a member of well-regarded London set 5 Paper Buildings. He has particular expertise in acting for employers in discrimination claims, with previous clients ranging from small businesses to public bodies. His is a specialist in all aspects of immigration law and, in particular, business immigration for individuals and businesses.
Robert Ryall, Head of Commercial Litigation , added:
“Having an in- house barrister as part of the litigation department is certain to benefit our clients. Not only will it make costs more manageable, it will mean that the client and their advocate are much more in tune with each other well in advance of the hearing”
Satinder Gill said on his appointment:
“These are challenging times for the legal profession, and I think the onus is on solicitors and barristers to evolve. That’s why I am delighted to have joined such a forward-thinking firm as SA Law and look forward to sharing in their future success.”
