Date 17 October 2011

SA Law sponsored the Macmillan Cancer Support's centenary Thanksgiving service in the prestigious St Albans Cathedral on Sunday 2nd October 2011. The service included hymns, thought provoking readings, music and beautiful singing from the Hertfordshire County Youth Choir to celebrate the 100th birthday of the well respected and important charity.

The event raised an impressive £3222,89 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Gillian Codling, on behalf of Françoise Austin (President) and all of the Welwyn & Hatfield Committee, said: “On behalf of the Welwyn & Hatfield Committee I would like to express our sincere thanks to our friends at SA Law for their sponsorship, and also thank them for their generosity of time. This event was such a wonderful occasion. It was stunning.”

One in three of us at some stage in our lives will develop cancer; with 2 million already living with it. Macmillan is here to help everyone living with cancer take the first step towards more ‘good days’. It provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care. For many years Macmillan Cancer Support has assisted local organisations and small groups of supporters with vital fundraising to improve the lives of the many people who really need our help, support and comfort during a very difficult time in their lives.

Julie Gingell, Director of Marketing and Business Development at SA Law comments: “Community and social responsibility play an integral part in our company culture. We are thrilled that our efforts have made a positive impact on Macmillan, a charity we feel is of such value to the local community”
